From our Family to Yours.

Wild seafood, built on quality, care, and respect for the ocean.

Our story

We’re Hook Point.

Our family fishes the waters of Kodiak, Alaska and sources the best fish around because we believe people deserve access to truly good seafood. Wild, well handled, and simply better.

Food is connection. It is how people come together. What you put on the table matters, and we take that seriously from the moment it is caught to the moment you share it.

Life on the Water

For over two decades, our family has been dedicated to sustainable commercial fishing at Hook Point on the northwest side of Kodiak Island. What started in 2000 when Mat joined as a crew member has grown into a family legacy.

Setnet fishing is about as straightforward as it gets. We anchor nets perpendicular to the shoreline, right where the salmon swim through on their way to spawn. The fish hit the net, get caught, and we pick them out by hand. Our fish are immediately bled, iced, and picked up daily for processing in a local facility.

In 2021, we bought the Hook Point site and now run it as a family of five. Every season, we're out there setting nets, picking fish, and making sure each one gets the care it deserves.

More Than Just Seafood

We bring home what we catch and we also source from other small-boat fishermen and set-net sites throughout Alaska. Some are neighbors we share tides with, others we've connected with through the broader fishing community. What matters to us is how the fish is caught, handled, and cared for along the way.

Our seafood is processed through trusted small-scale facilities, including a Native-owned processor in Kodiak, and packed to the same standard we expect for our own table. This is food we feed our family and friends; food that brings people together.

Why We Share This With You

For us, fishing isn’t just a job. It’s our way of life. It keeps us connected to the land, the water, and to each other. And we believe that when you share real, thoughtfully harvested food, you’re not just feeding your body, you’re feeding something deeper.

When you bring our wild-caught fish to your table, you’re joining us in that. Food is love. It’s the late-night dinners, the weekend barbecues, the meals made with care and shared with the people who matter most.

When you choose our seafood, you’re connecting to a place, a family, and a way of life that honors the journey of the fish from ocean to plate.
